Dr. Asbery came into my life when I was 11 years old, precisely 4 months after my father (who wasn’t in my life) passed away. I always thought the idea of a “father” was someone who just accompanied the mother and simply displayed the role as male figure in the children lives. I really had a hard time growing up without a father and Dr. Asbery stepped in and filled that role as my father. I deeply thank Dr. Asbery for being a strong part of my life and showing me how a proper father is supposed to guide his children, even if we aren’t biologically related.
